Protein with Veg dog food

Busting Myths: Pet Parent and Doggos Thriving on Plant Proteins

Both athletes and dogs, both small and large breed dogs, have one thing in common: people believe that they can’t get the required Protein intake from non-meat sources. Lewis Hamilton, seven-time F1 world champion, pet-lover, and parent challenged this belief when he adopted a vegan lifestyle. In addition to this, he also put his dog Roscoe on a plant-based diet.

In 2020, Hamilton announced that Roscoe had quit eating meat and was getting his nourishment through plant-based foods. Noting that he had seen impressive improvements in Roscoe’s health as a consequence of the switch in diet, Hamilton was excited to share that the British bulldog had a healthier coat, the swelling in his feet had reduced, and the pain from his Arthritis had gone down too. This announcement had come after Hamilton’s younger Bulldog, Coco, had died from a possible heart attack.

Other celebrities whose dogs went down the same route are Natalie Portman’s dog Sunday and the musician Moby’s dog Bagel, Alicia Silverstone’s dog Pinto Bean.

Veg dog food is often shrouded in the misconception that it does not cover your furry pal’s nutritional requirements. On the contrary, plant protein isolates offer about 85% protein content, which is comparable to meat proteins. These isolates are also a source of leaner proteins, making your dog’s journey of weight management a happy and easy one.

In addition to Proteins, veg dog food from Carniwel contains Spirulina, which provides 10 times more Beta-carotene than carrots. This enhances vision in your dog and improves immunity. This is a great defense against all the germs your dogs are exposed to through their muddy adventures. Spirulina also provides 60-70% Protein, which is higher than that from meats. Other ingredients that can take care of your beloved dog’s health are Seaweed, which is great for supporting thyroid function, and metabolic and gut health, Yeast extract which is a source of antioxidants and prebiotics, and Algal oil which contains Omega 3, EPA, and DHA. Algal oil takes good care of your dog’s skin, coat, cognitive function, and joints.
